LeBron Raymone James Sr. (born December 30, 1984) was an American professional basketball player with the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). King James is widely regarded as one of basketball's greatest players and is frequently compared with Michael Jordan when discussing the most popular basketball player. James has won two Olympic gold medals as well as four NBA championships. James has the highest points in the playoffs with the second-highest number of points in his career and is the seventh player with the most career assists. The national media celebrated James as an NBA superstar. As a prep-to-pro player, he was picked for the Cleveland Cavaliers with the first overall pick in the 2003 NBA draft. Named the 2004 NBA Rookie of Year He quickly established himself as one of the league's premier players, winning the NBA MVP award in 2009 and 2010.
