She's reported on sports at many of the top media outlets across the world. She spent almost a decade writing about the sport for The Washington Post, including tennis, football and basketball. Nichols was a reporter for nine years during her period with ESPN in which she won two Emmy Awards, and featured in a variety of ESPN's most popular programs, including NFL Countdown and SportsCenter. In her role as a reporter at the sidelines as well as a participant on Monday Night Football. After she left ABC, her following destination was CNN as well as Turner Sports. Unguarded the show, which she produced and hosted, was telecast each week on CNN International. More than 1 billion people watched it worldwide. Nichols was a reporter for NBA broadcasts on TNT which included the regular season, playoffs and All-Star broadcasts. The reporter also reported on golf, baseball and Final Four broadcasts for CBS and TBS. This is only the second nomination in the 42 years that have preceded the honor for a female out of more than 200 contestants.
