Niykee is still writing songs, even though she has been caught up in the recent turmoil. Her selection was made for her participation in YouTube Brandcast by Snoop and the rapper was with her on stage. The young producer is now fascinated by Niykee. She constantly checks out the most recent beats. A lot of them inspire music ideas. After just five seconds that I can determine the beat's worthwhile. Then I am able to see the concept of a whole song inside my head and start writing. I sit on my back porch with my guitar and lyrics just come and usually it's all done in under thirty minutes. As she continues develop as a musician, Niykee says that the pain of her past serves as an endless source of inspiration. It's hard to avoid the painful memories from my childhood, and especially the loss of my sister. These memories are integrated into her music. The resulting music is shaped by my experiences and provides it with a deeper meaning, which I find extremely important. I would like to be able to listen to my songs in 20 years and feel proud of the things I've written.
